Athena frequently appears with Herakles (Hercules) as a helper in his labors and here she is pouring him some wine. This is just after he cleaned out the filthy stables and then he'll head off to wrestle bulls and three-headed dogs.
I'd say he deserves a break.
Ok ok ok ok ok ok ok ok. Let me get this straight. Is this after he cleans out the flesh-eating horse stables by using water from a stream nearby? That's the story that's popping into my head.
