Melvin was a snail. And like all of his kind, he resided in a shell.
Having a shell was so much a part of Melvin he could never understand the facination it held for those around him.
“Come out of your shell, Melvin! Come out of your shell!” they cried.
Why?
A snail lives in a shell. This is a simple truth. So, seeing that there was no logic whatsoever in his peer’s pressurings, he and his shell schlinked off.
This shell nonesense occurred day after day until it was time for Melvin to have a bath. He slipped gracefully into the water in all his shell-less glory.
Some of his neighbors saw his shell sitting on the bank , so they let themselves to it.
And when they looked inside, this is what they saw:
Melvin couldn’t tell you why, but quite suddenly, all of those bugs stopped pestering him.
Little did he know, as soon as they saw where he lived , they understood why he loved living inside his shell.
The End
*Snails actually do not come out of their shells.
Especially to take baths.
That is all.
