I know I missed the last two days...but... I've decided to make this week a little different. In my collection of dictionaries I have a dictionary of English idioms. It's high time I put it to some real use.
act the goat- deliberately to behave in a silly or eccentric way; to play the fool
Insecure and lonely, he resorted to acting the goat to get people's attention.
any port in a storm- when one is in difficulties one must accept any way out, whether one likes the solution or not.

(thunder, lightening.)
Pirate #1: 'Tis cap'n's orders ter drop anchor at the nearest port!
Pirate #2: Aye, any port in the storm, sez i.

beggar description- to be impossible to describe well enough to give an accurate description

Our reaction to the proposal beggars description. We were deeply disturbed for days.

Oh gosh. English idioms...where they come from, I'll never know. But I love 'em anyways! They're a MUST USE in everyday conversation, you know.
